Avalanche Studios is the original creator of the award-winning Just Cause franchise (published by Square Enix), the developer of Mad Max (published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) and is currently working on Rage 2 (published by Bethesda Softworks), scheduled for release in 2019. As a publisher, Avalanche Studios has brought free-to-play service theHunter Classic to market and reached more than 7 million registered players across 190 countries. theHunter franchise was expanded in 2017 to also include premium title theHunter: Call of the Wild, which was released for PC and subsequently console platforms. Avalanche Studios, which is based in Stockholm, New York City and Malmö, was founded in 2003 by Christofer Sundberg and Linus Blomberg. The studio develops games using its proprietary Apex technology, enabling huge open worlds filled with emergent gameplay.
Avalanche Studios and its subsidiary Expansive Worlds are looking for an experienced Game Designer to work with us on our self-published title theHunter: Call of the Wild. The game has been released in February 2017 but our work has only begun.
As the Game Designer for Call of the Wild, you will take a key role in making decisions about new content, game balance, systems and how to improve them to offer a fresh and fun experience over years.
On a high level, you and fellow game designers will lead the creative development for Call of the Wild and work closely with the Producer and Product Owner to realize the roadmap you helped develop.
On a day to day basis you will design new features as well as content and also take an active role in product reviews to ensure an appropriate quality level.
Talent in Mission Design and Narrative is a plus.
As you will work on a wide range of different game aspects, we see the perfect candidate having a couple of years practical experience from different areas of game development as well as experience from being a lead.

- Experienced the release of at least 2 games and/or DLC of products you worked actively on in a design capacity
- Experience in working on live games
- Expert understanding of running a game as service including game updates, DLC, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English)
- Data management and editing with excel or similar
- Talent in Mission Design & Narrative
- Used to handling any type of feedback from a passionate community and know how to utilize that in the design process
