Avalanche Studios are looking for a passionate and highly creative Senior Vegetation/Environment Artist. As a Senior Vegetation/Environment Artist you will be tasked with crafting cutting edge game environments. The ideal candidate will have experience creating natural environments particularly vegetation and organic terrain. Having experience in creating man made assets, such as structures and props, is a plus.
The candidate must feel comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team, who they will be working with to create astounding, beautiful open worlds. They will be expected to help drive the quality benchmark for the discipline whilst managing their time to match the project’s goals.
As a Senior Vegetation/Environment Artist at Avalanche Studios you will collaborate in an interdisciplinary team to create art for our world and all of its components. We expect you to take your assets all the way from conceptual mockups through modeling, texturing and making the assets performant in game. You will also be responsible for the final functionality of your assets, such as setup of destruction and environment animations.
- Excellent modeling and texturing skills using Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop
- Experience with physically-based rendering
- A strong reel/portfolio with clearly-documented artistic accomplishments
- A great sense of technical know-how and functional problem-solving
- Passion for making and playing games
- 5+ years of AAA experience and with at least one open-world game shipped (or equivalent)
- Experience with Zbrush
- Experience with Speedtree
- Experience with Allegorithmic Substance Designer and/or Painter.
- Experience with photogrammetric asset creation workflows
- Ability to communicate and realize an artistic vision
