To do an internship at Avalanche Studios is almost like being employed by us. In many ways the differences are non-existent; as an intern you are responsible for your own part of the game and the tasks you get will depend on your skillset and background. We are constantly aware of the fact that the internship is part of your education and our goal is to maximize your opportunities to learn and develop.  Although we can’t guarantee that your specific work will be visible in the final product, you will feel part of a larger context.

Avalanche Studios is looking for an art intern to work with our new self-published title currently in development. You will work closely with the development team to help create compelling worlds that push the boundary of gameplay, art, and storytelling. You will be creating props, structures, weapons and other key assets in the world all the way from conceptual mockups through modeling and texturing to final implementation in the game. 

Required qualifications

  • A portfolio showing well developed or promising artistic skills.
  • Knowledge of modeling and texturing using Autodesk Maya and Substance Painter.
  • A good sense of technical know how and functional problem-solving.
  • A sense for how objects are fabricated and assembled.
  • Having a passion for playing and making games.


Desired qualifications

  • Good sense of design, composition, color and layout.
  • Experience with additional software such as Zbrush and Substance designer.
  • Experience in building environments.
  • Experience in concepting/ visualizing ideas.
  • Experience with physical based rendering.
