About a week ago, we were challenged by NetherRealm Studios to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. While we enjoyed watching the NetherRealm guys cool themselves at the height of the Chicago summer, just pouring ice water over our heads seemed a little easy. As Swedes, we drill holes in the ice and go for a swim just about every winter. Legend also speaks of wrestling polar bears, but we’d rather not discuss that.
To switch things up, a dozen Avalanchers – including Co-Founder Christofer Sundberg – decided to run the Tough Viking race this weekend. Apart from containers filled with 20 000 pounds of ice and water, they ran 15 K (9.3 miles) through fire and smoke, 10 000 volts of electricity, a field guarded by American football players in full gear and countless military style obstacles.
