We’re looking for a Community Lead with a genuine passion for games to be the voice of the player for theHunter: Call of the Wild. In this role, you will own the player relationship end-to-end, acting as the bridge between our audience and the development team. You will balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement; writing the strategy and then driving it forward alongside two Community Managers to ensure that our development and communication are informed by a deep, empathetic understanding of our community.
You’ll be stepping into a team that already has strong foundations, including an active Discord, Steam, Social, and Livestream presence. Your job is to mature and elevate these into a more strategically cohesive operation. You will be the senior advocate for a thriving community that has made theHunter a global phenomenon and a benchmark for the genre over the last decade.
The Position
This is a high-impact role for someone who is both a strategic thinker and a self-driven executor. You will lead a mature community ecosystem, combining high-level direction with daily execution to ensure the player’s voice is a natural part of our work and product evolution.
What you'll do
- Refine and execute the community strategy across Socials, Discord, Steam, and Reddit, ensuring a clear purpose and tone for each platform.
- Manage community operations, including line management of two Community Managers, budget oversight, and coordination with our Customer Support partner.
- Be the voice of the player by building frameworks to interpret player signals and translating them into actionable insights for Marketing and Dev, collaborating closely with our Insights team to gain a deeper understanding of player drives and motivators.
- Bridge the gap between players and production by owning feedback loops, closed playtests, and our player feedback platform, Avahub.
- Oversee authentic content and livestreaming, ensuring high-quality patch notes, Q&As, and articles in collaboration with the Campaign Manager.
Who you are
- You have extensive experience in community management within the gaming industry, including a proven track record in a senior or lead capacity (which we believe typically requires 6+ years of experience).
- You bring a proven track record from Premium Live games and a deep familiarity with Discord, Steam, and Reddit. You know exactly how different communities behave and how to adapt your approach - whether you're managing day-to-day engagement or running structured player programs like councils, betas, and ambassador programs.
- You are a proactive and self-driven leader with a high degree of empathy for player needs and a passion for advocacy.
- You are data-driven and communicative, with the ability to turn complex community sentiment into clear, influential narratives.
- You thrive in a flat organization where you are expected to both lead the strategy and stay hands-on with the day-to-day execution.
