Avalanche Studios Group is looking for a passionate and creative Experienced or Senior Environment Artist. As an Environment Artist, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning Environmental structures and props for immersive environments that players will explore and engage with. You will collaborate with level designers and other disciplines supporting gameplay and world-building with high-quality assets.
Working at Avalanche enables a great level of creative freedom and autonomy, where you get the responsibility for taking your assets from conceptual mockups through modelling and texturing to final implementation and placement in the environment. Furthermore, to thrive within our team at Avalanche, proficiency in technical skills is essential, as is a willingness to learn, engage, and adapt to our Apex engine and custom tools.
We are looking for someone who is able to create Structures and props in a realistic art style, while managing your time to match the project’s goals.

What You’ll Do
- Work from concepts or other reference materials to achieve believable environments.
- Collaborate with artists and other disciplines to ensure a seamless gameplay experience.
- Optimize assets for performance and memory usage, while maintaining visual fidelity.
- Provide support, guidance, and feedback to your peers.
Who You Are
- Excellent modeling, texturing and shader skills using industry-standard tools such as Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter/Designer, Zbrush and Adobe Photoshop (or equivalent).
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Capable of taking full responsibility throughout the art pipeline.
- Strong understanding of art fundamentals, such as composition, form, scale, color, texture and lighting.
- A great artistic eye and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, both technical and creative.
- Strong artistic and conceptual ability to visualize and maintain the design and art vision of an area in detail with minimal concept art and direction.
- Ability to manage your own time and tasks, set realistic goals and meet deadlines.
- Receptive to feedback and adapts to necessary changes.
- Proficient verbal and written skills in English.
In-depth experience as an Environment Artist or a similar role in the game industry.
